It’s back again, everyone’s favorite holiday to hate — Cinco De Mayo.
Back in my college days we would look for any excuse to drink, essentially making up our own holidays: Sunday Funday, Margarita Monday, Taco Tuesday, Wine Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, Friday Bride Day, and Sippin’ Saturday.
Probably my favorite part of school, ya know, besides the learning (Hi, Mom!).
A couple of years ago I posted a D.I.Y for Crunchwraps easily paired with a Baja Blast Margarita for the perfect Cinco De Mayo fiesta.
But a party would be nothing without a piñata! So here are a few easy steps to create your own:
What You’ll Need:
- Tissue paper/Construction paper (for tomatoes, sour cream, taco meat, and cheese)
- Roll of streamers (taco shell and lettuce)
- Hot glue gun
- Fishing wire
Step 1: Cut Out Two Boob-Shaped Lumps for Taco Shells (and Like Normal Boobs, They Probably Won’t Be Symmetrical).
Step 2: Cut Two Strips. One Long and One Short for the Bottom and Top of the Taco.
Step 3: Hot Glue Everything Together.
Step 4: Glue on Layers of Yellow Streamers; One Layer Higher Than the Next. Do This to Both Sides.
Step 5: Snip Small Slits into the Layers.
Step 6: Finally, Add the Condiments. Half Spheres for Tomatoes, Curl Small Strips for Cheese, Add a Strip Along the Edge for Lettuce, and Crumple Brown Construction Paper for Taco Meat and White Paper for Sour Cream.

Also, don’t forget to educate yourself on what Cinco De Mayo actually is.
